Jan Kern

Jan Kern has more than 35 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She has served in a variety of leadership and management positions, and her expertise includes strategic program development and execution, staff management, team building and facilitation. As a pioneer in collaborating with community leaders to create nonprofit organizations that answer the needs of Los Angeles’ diverse neighborhoods, Jan has a longstanding interest in providing children and youth with the services and programs they require to succeed. From 2004-2014 she served as the president of The Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health. She continues to provide leadership on selected nonprofit boards. In addition to working with nonprofit organizations, Jan is recognized as an expert in family philanthropy. Working with Southern California Grantmakers for over 20 years, she has advised family philanthropists, helping them maximize the impact of their giving.
