Cohort 13, comprised of the capacity building teams of Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson, The Giving Spirit, ICAN California Abilities Network, Little Tokyo Service Center, People Assisting the Homeless, and United Friends of the Children, came together in April for our first Peer Learning Session. The cohort includes a broad mix of organizations, each with differing structures, volunteer programs, missions, and communities served. This diversity encourages valuable knowledge exchange among the organizations.
More information about Cohort 13 can be found here!
During Peer Learning Session 1, Cohort 13 candidly shared details of their current volunteer programs, all the good AND all the improvements they’d like to see for their volunteer programs. Together, they mapped out their current volunteer programs to understand their volunteers’ motivations and unique skills, and used that information to look for alignment with the needs of their organization and any volunteer opportunities. After our first session, Cohort 13 shared they felt optimistic, supported, and enlightened!
The Foundation and our capacity building partners at Blue Garnet are excited to continue the progress made in this session and work alongside Cohort 13 as they strengthen their volunteer programs to further organizational goals.
