After Life Initiative
Volunteer: Rabia Qutab
After Life Initiative (ALi) empowers system-impacted individuals to rebuild their lives after incarceration by disrupting cycles of incarceration and creating real pathways to success.

Rabia Qutab began volunteering with ALi two years ago as she was introduced to ALi through Co-Executive Director Keeairra Dashiell, whom she met during her time in a traditional reentry program with the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC). She leads trauma-informed healing circles, mentors participants, and co-creates new peer-led program models. Her volunteerism is deeply relational—rooted in trust, accountability, and the belief that transformation is possible for everyone. Beyond her facilitation work, Rabia supports ALi’s long-term vision. She serves as a thought partner to ALi's leadership, offering strategic insight grounded in lived experience. She helps guide internal planning conversations, uplifts the voices of other formerly incarcerated women, and models peer leadership in every space she enters. Her approach reflects ALi’s values of mutual aid and liberation—not charity or hierarchy. Through her consistent example, Rabia inspires others to lead with integrity, proves the transformative power of lived experience, and reminds us all that those closest to the problem truly hold the keys to the solution.
