LA Family Housing

Volunteer: Michael Weber

LA Family Housing (LAFH) helps people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.

Michael Weber has been a volunteer and an indispensable member of the LAFH family since 2017. Most recently, Michael has been volunteering with the Human Resources department, logging over 1,000 hours of service each year. His volunteerism could amount to a part-time job; in fact, it is estimated that Michael has single-handedly saved the organization over $100,000 through his work supporting the organization's HR department over the years. Local to North Hollywood, he has always felt immense meaning helping those people in his community who are experiencing homelessness. His "can-do attitude" helps fill in whatever gaps are needed and his ongoing commitment demonstrates how volunteers can become integral members an organization. Michael's meticulous attention to detail in processing paperwork and helping onboard new team members has been critical to LAFH during important periods of organizations growth. The depth and consistency of Michael's commitment sets the standard as LAFH works to build a culture of ongoing volunteerism. By supporting organization infrastructure and HR needs, he supports all LAFH staff, who can then in turn better support their nearly 12,000 program participants.
