As a native of Los Angeles, California, Suzanne is a Change Champion. With over 13 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, she is committed to transforming communities and changing lives through the decolonization of adverse practices within systems and social impact organizations that serve vulnerable populations. As Executive Director for Southern California at First Place for Youth, Suzanne is responsible for fundraising, operations, strengthening and cultivating critical partnerships that support the growth in the Southern California region, ensuring that First Place delivers the highest quality services and supports for more than 200 transition age current and former foster youth in the region annually. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Pan African studies from California State University, Northridge, and a Master’s degree in social work (Summa Cum Laude) from California State University, Long Beach.
